The singer songwriter started her professional journey at the age of 13, and had her first major feature on Benjamin Dube’s High Praise Explosion album at 14. She entered the South African Music Industry, serving and sharing the stage with established South African artists. Her career blossomed immensely when she joined the internationally renowned choir Joyous Celebration as a singer, songwriter and pivotal member. This helped to propel her pioneering solo career, which successfully followed.


Mahalia has travelled around the globe, performing in front of millions of people across Africa, Europe and the USA. Her reputation as an authentic vocalist, which transcends culture, has seen her sell-out shows in some of the world's most iconic cities.

She has received numerous invitations to support Grammy award-winning artists such as Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Winans for what were truly awe-inspiring performances.

Not satisfied to let her talent shine through music alone, she has channelled her creative pursuits into one of South Africa's most popular award-winning talk shows, Destiny - a program she conceptualised, co-produces and hosts.

Her unique persona highlights a mix of infectious optimism, bold confidence, and genuine humility which has led her to become a sought after Master of Ceremonies at many high profile events, where guests of honour have included the President of South Africa and members of the Royal House in the kingdom of Swaziland.

Through her music, television and in-person appearances, Mahalia has garnered an ever-growing and highly-engaged audience which cuts across a variety of ethnic groups within Africa and the rest of the world.
